Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of FlickTimer (“the Service”), operated by FlickTimer LLC, a registered limited liability company based in Fort Worth, Texas (“FlickTimer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account and using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About FlickTimer

FlickTimer is a consequence-based time accountability platform. You set a task, a duration, and a financial consequence amount. If you fail to complete your commitment within the set time, the consequence amount is automatically charged to your saved payment method. FlickTimer is not a motivational app, reminder service, or coaching platform. It is a consequence engine.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use FlickTimer. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • You are not prohibited from using the Service under any applicable law
  • The payment method you provide is valid and belongs to you or you are authorized to use it

3. Account Registration

To use FlickTimer, you must create an account by providing your full name, email address, and a password. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account

FlickTimer reserves the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Payment Method

At onboarding, you are required to save a valid payment method (credit or debit card) via our payment processor, Stripe. By saving your payment method, you authorize FlickTimer to charge your card when a consequence fires. Your card information is stored securely by Stripe and is never stored on FlickTimer’s servers.

5. How Consequences Work

By starting a commitment on FlickTimer, you enter into a binding commitment contract. You agree to the following:

  • Timer: Once started, the timer runs server-side and cannot be stopped, paused, or reversed.
  • Confirmation: When your timer expires, you will receive an email asking whether you completed your commitment. You have 30 seconds to respond.
  • YES response: If you confirm completion within 30 seconds, no charge is made.
  • NO response or no response: If you click NO or fail to respond within 30 seconds, the consequence fires automatically and your card is charged the full consequence amount.
  • Minimum consequence: The minimum consequence amount is $10.
  • Commitment contract: All consequence funds collected by FlickTimer are retained by FlickTimer LLC as consideration for the commitment contract you entered into. By starting a session, you voluntarily agree to forfeit the consequence amount to FlickTimer if you fail to complete your commitment. This model is consistent with established commitment contract platforms and is legally sound under contract law.

6. Non-Refundable Consequences

⚠️ All consequence charges are final and non-refundable.

By starting a commitment, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Consequence charges will not be refunded under any circumstances
  • Technical issues on your end (browser crashes, internet outages, missed emails) do not constitute grounds for a refund
  • FlickTimer is not responsible for email delivery delays caused by your email provider or spam filters
  • The 30-second response window is firm

If you believe a charge was made in error due to a technical failure on FlickTimer’s end, you may contact us at support@flicktimer.com. We will review each case individually at our sole discretion. Refunds, if granted, are entirely at FlickTimer’s discretion.

7. Subscription Plans

FlickTimer offers two tiers of access:

Free Tier: Free accounts include up to 3 commitment sessions per calendar month, a $10 consequence amount, and timer durations of 15 or 30 minutes. Free tier access is provided at FlickTimer’s discretion and may be modified at any time with reasonable notice.

FlickTimer Pro ($9.99/month): Pro subscribers receive unlimited sessions per month, access to all consequence amounts ($10, $25, $50, and custom), all timer durations (15, 30, 45, 60 minutes, and custom), and full session history. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe to your saved payment method.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled
  • To cancel your Pro subscription, contact us at support@flicktimer.com
  • Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued
  • FlickTimer reserves the right to modify subscription pricing with 30 days’ notice

8. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use FlickTimer for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to manipulate, reverse, or circumvent the consequence engine
  • Use false or fraudulent payment information
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the Service
  • Attempt to access another user’s account

9. Termination

FlickTimer reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including but not limited to violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or failed payments. Upon termination:

  • Any active Pro subscription is cancelled immediately
  • Outstanding consequence charges remain due and payable
  • You will lose access to your session history

You may close your account at any time by contacting support@flicktimer.com.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

FlickTimer is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. FlickTimer does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that emails will be delivered within any guaranteed timeframe, or that the Service will meet your specific requirements. Use of FlickTimer is at your sole risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FlickTimer LLC and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount of fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Tarrant County, Texas.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
